Line Superintendent – Copper Valley Electric Association

The Line Superintendent provides efficient management of the distribution and transmission facilities in the Copper River Basin and Valdez Districts by ensuring all necessary materials, equipment, supplies, and services are provided for the day-to-day operation of the Cooperative in an expedient manner. The position is responsible for supervision of a three-person line crew in each District.

Ten years progressively responsible experience and system operations experience in the electric utility industry, the ability to work well and communicate with the general public, and a valid Alaska Commercial Drivers License are requirements of the position. A minimum of a two-year technical degree is preferred and a technical certification as Journey Lineman. Travel between the two districts is necessary and outside the service territory as required.

Dam Safety Engineer Position - Avista Corp.

Responsible for overseeing the civil and structural design for capital improvements and maintenance activities, regulatory compliance, and operational troubleshooting for Avista’s hydro and thermal generating stations. Responsible for implementation of Avista’s Dam Safety program and compliance with federal and state dam safety requirements. Manages a staff of engineers to accomplish assigned project and task objectives. Coordinates work with engineering consultants and other engineering sections, with various operations, maintenance, and construction personnel; regulatory agencies; power supply, environmental, and other departments within Avista. Furnishes technical expertise for operations, maintenance and during emergencies as required for generating stations. Responsible for supporting planning efforts to improve and maintain Avista’s generating assets. Serves as Avista’s Chief Dam Safety Engineer.

Provide system engineering and technical support for the Transmission & Distribution and Generation Departments. Ensure efficient use of resources and that operation, installation, and maintenance of the transmission and distribution system is performed in a safe, efficient, and economical manner. Provide medium- and long-range planning for maintenance, operation, and improvement of the distribution and transmission facilities. Manage large projects for the Cooperative. Support and develop the Field Services Representative.

El Dorado Irrigation District seeks an experienced, journey-level Senior Hydroelectric System Technician. The successful candidate will performs highly skilled technical duties involving the operations and maintenance of the District’s hydroelectric plant; maintains, troubleshoots repairs and operates equipment associated with the hydroelectric powerhouse and water conveyance system; and calculates and schedules the selling of power.
