Hydro Project Mechanics - City of Tacoma
The City of Tacoma is creating a civil service employment list for
Hydroelectric Project Mechanic positions at the Cushman Hydroelectric
Project. Hydroelectric Project Mechanics perform skilled work in the
journey-level maintenance and repair of hydroelectric project equipment,
fisheries equipment, apparatus, fixtures, structures, heavy equipment
and vehicles. The position requires the combined skills of a mechanic,
machinist, millwright, welder and working knowledge of industrial
refrigeration, air-conditioning and basic electricity. Work is performed
indoors and outdoors and in high or confined places or near high voltage
power lines. Expectations are that new employees will be able to report
within 30 minutes to the Cushman Hydroelectric Project near the town of
Potlatch, south of Hoodsport, WA, for emergency call outs.
