Hydropower Projects Manager (Environmental Specialist 4)
This position supports the Washington Department of Ecology’s and the Water Quality program’s mission by serving as a senior environmental specialist, under the direction of the Watershed Unit Supervisor, responsible for independently providing expert guidance and oversight at major hydropower projects on the Columbia River for the protection of water quality, as well as other Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) related projects within Ecology’s Central Region. This position is the primary point of contact between Ecology and proponents and holders of FERC hydropower licenses within the Region.

Dam Safety Engineer Position - Avista Corp.
Responsible for overseeing the civil and structural design for capital
improvements and maintenance activities, regulatory compliance, and operational
troubleshooting for Avista’s hydro and thermal generating stations.
Responsible for implementation of Avista’s Dam Safety program and compliance
with federal and state dam safety requirements. Manages a staff of engineers to
accomplish assigned project and task objectives. Coordinates work with engineering
consultants and other engineering sections, with various operations, maintenance,
and construction personnel; regulatory agencies; power supply, environmental, and
other departments within Avista. Furnishes technical expertise for operations,
maintenance and during emergencies as required for generating stations.
Responsible for supporting planning efforts to improve and maintain Avista’s
generating assets. Serves as Avista’s Chief Dam Safety Engineer.
