HB 2211 Business Energy Tax Credits
The legislation expands the Business Energy Tax Credit (BETC)
for renewable energy projects.
New Hydropower Benefits
- Change the cap on eligible project size from 1 MegaWatt
to 10 MWs
- Increase the cap on eligible projects from $5 million to
$20 million per project
- Expand the tax credit from 35% over 5 years to 50% over
5 years
The current program allows for public entities to pass
through the tax credit to a sponsor. Banks in Oregon are among
some of the major sponsors of the pass through credit.
