Jeff Leahey, Moderator Vice President, SMI About Jeff: Mr. Leahey is an experienced government affairs professional with an extensive energy, environment, and natural resources policy background who has worked in Washington, DC for over 20 years. Prior to joining the SMI team, Jeff served as the Executive Vice President for Governmental Affairs at the National Hydropower Association (NHA) representing NHA before Congress, the Administration, and federal agencies on various matters including climate and clean energy policy, renewable energy and energy storage tax and other incentives, R&D funding, and many others. Jeff has testified before Congress, drafted legislative policy, and developed comments on regulatory and administrative proposals. He currently serves as a Board member of NHA and in leadership on the Board of the National Energy Resources Organization (NERO). He is an attorney and graduate of Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, MA and of Washington University in St. Louis, MO, with a degree in biology and political science.

Prior to then, Mike came from Dominion Energy where he advocated for Dominion Energy’s interests at PJM, ISO-NE, and NEPOOL stakeholder venues. Prior to working for Dominion Energy, Mike worked at the Nuclear Energy Institute and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
