In 2015, the hydro-engineering industry lost a long-time colleague and friend, Julie A. Keil. Julie was a mentor to many in the industry and will long be remembered for her contributions to the industry. Her passionate efforts to balance the interests of the hydropower community with the innovative environmental protection and enhancement programs will have a positive impact on the industry for many years to come.

In the fall of 2015, the Northwest Hydro Electric Association began soliciting donations to fund a scholarship in Julie’s memory, with the support of Julie’s family and colleagues. The Julie A. Keil Women in Hydro Scholarship Fund will provide:
You can honor Julie and help support the advancement of women in the hydropower industry by making a tax-deductible donation to the Julie A. Keil Women in Hydro Scholarship Fund. To donate with a debit or credit card click on the DONATE button.
You can also mail a donation to the Hydropower Foundation. Checks should be made payable to the Hydropower Foundation with the notation Julie Keil Fund in the memo line.

The application window for the 2023 Julie A. Keil Women in Scholarship Fund is now available through May 31, 2023. The 2022 winner is Chelesee Brumback. For more information and to apply, visit the Hydropower Foundation website. The 2023 winner will be announced in awarded in June.
