Professional Bio

Ed Mount is Director of Power Supply Planning and Operations for The Energy Authority (TEA), a non-profit corporation serving consumer-owned electric utilities with portfolio management, energy trading, risk management, and analytics and advisory services. Ed has over 30 years of experience in the Pacific Northwest electric utility industry, spanning activities in resource planning and management, trading, risk management, contract negotiations, and public power policy development.

Ed works out of TEA’s Seattle-area office and is TEA’s designated representative for its participation in the Western Power Pool’s Western Resource Adequacy Program (WRAP). He also currently serves as the Chair of WRAP’s Participant Committee, one of the program’s primary decision-making bodies.

Ed holds a Master of Economics degree from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Whitman College.
