Professional Bio

Dr. Elizabeth Cook serves as Vice President of Technical Strategy at the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies (AEIC), where she works with electric utility leaders across North America to advance practical approaches to grid modernization, operational excellence, reliability, resilience, and data-driven decision-making. Her work focuses on connecting strategy to execution through peer collaboration, shared learning, and a clear understanding of utility operational realities.

Her background spans nearly two decades across transmission and distribution planning, advanced grid systems, asset management, and digital transformation. Prior to AEIC, she held senior leadership roles within an investor-owned utility, where she was responsible for developing and executing multi-year grid modernization programs, integrating emerging technologies, and aligning planning, operations, and enterprise systems. These experiences shaped her view that sound engineering practice, clear standards, and technical rigor are essential enablers of progress.

In addition to her technical leadership, Dr. Cook brings an Integrated Being perspective to complex energy challenges, emphasizing the role of leadership, mindset, and human systems in enabling lasting transformation. She places strong emphasis on translating complexity into clarity, supporting organizational readiness for change, and fostering continuous improvement across both technical and human dimensions. She holds a PhD in electrical engineering and remains actively engaged in education, research, and industry collaboration through teaching, publishing, and facilitation.
