Steve Hocking

Steve Hocking is a Senior Regulatory Advisor at Kleinschmidt. Before Kleinschmidt, Steve worked at FERC for 32 years in the Commission’s three hydropower divisions: Licensing, Compliance, and Dam Safety. While at FERC, Steve reviewed and managed numerous relicensing proceedings, major license amendments, surrenders, temporary variances, and jurisdictional determinations. Steve also worked extensively with FERC’s five Regional Offices, assisting with public safety plans and incident reviews, public safety measures installed at projects, and strategic planning. Steve applies his deep regulatory knowledge of FERC to help Kleinschmidt’s clients navigate the complexities of hydropower licensing, compliance, and safety.
