Vincent Mercier

Vincent Mercier is Kiewit’s Hydropower, Dams and Hydraulic Structures’ Engineering Department Director and a Sr Design Manager with 23 years of experience in hydropower projects. His experience covers greenfield, brownfield, as well as operational support and R&D projects. This has provided him with a rare perspective on the challenges for the entire lifecycle of a hydropower projects. Vincent has worked for various types of clients including private and public developers, utilities, investors, consulting engineering firms, operators and contractors. Working with said clients has provided him with an insight to the motivations and sensitivities of most stakeholders in the hydropower business. Throughout his career, Vincent has worked on several projects delivered under a collaborative and/or alternative model, which provided him with an in-depth perspective of the latest industry trends and common pitfalls. He has been with Kiewit since 2020, working on the construction development of some of the largest new hydropower projects in North America.
